Good Morning All! The week is winding down and so far so good, I hope. I do enjoy the interaction and the interest of the questions I’ve posed and the well thought out answers for all who participate. Since I’ve come on board I’ve decided I’m going to shake things up a bit and expand our Season Blog to Facebook. I would love for you to follow me. Which means winter is on its way–although depending on where you live, you may feel like it’s here already. So with a new season means a new theme for The Season sites. If you’ve checked out the new December issue of The Season, you may have noticed the new theme already. Bear with me, the actual reviews will be us soon but in the meanwhile you can check out many of publishers’ offerings for this month of Christmas.

Now let’s talk about Christmas shopping. Have you started yours yet? I’m halfway through my son’s list–all of which I’ve ordered from Amazon and boy are they fast. I received the Kindle Fire first. I had to give it the once over you know, charge the battery, test it out. I’ll say this about it, for $199 it’s not a bad deal. It’s definitely not the iPad and is 100% Amazon-centric. For myself, I wouldn’t purchase it over an iPad but for a second tablet and one for a child who doesn’t need some of the fancier features of an iPad, I don’t think you can go wrong. I’ll tell you more about after Christmas when it goes into full use.

The backdrop of the entire series is a bakery owned by three friends, and in REBOUND they get the opportunity to open up another store in heroine #1′s (Rebound) ex-husband’s upscale bed and breakfast (tucked in a picturesque New England sort of setting). The bakery specializes in French pastries but they also do all the various sorts of breads, cakes, pies, tarts, you name it. I need a name for this store…which will also be the name of the series. I don’t think I’ve ever appreciated or chortled over a word the way I do ton. No not in you weigh a ton but the London ton.

When my novella, All’s Fair in Love & Seduction came out, I called my older brother to let him know.  Excited for me, he immediately went to Amazon to check it out. Literally, a minute after we hung up, I got a rather concerned call from him. He wanted me to know that there was a spelling error in my blurb. I was naturally alarmed. Good Lord, how could I have misspelled something in something that short and something that had been gone over many times by myself as well as others. I checked the blurb on Amazon immediately and discovered, I had indeed written:

For Miss Elizabeth Smith, sharing her first kiss with the charming Lord Derek Creswell is nothing short of a dream come true…that is, until she is spotted by one of the most influential gossips of the ton.

As you can see, instead of writing town, I wrote ton, leaving out the sadly neglected ‘w’. My panicked heart slowed and I laughed and I laughed, then I laughed some more. My brother got a very brief history lesson in the matters of the London aristocracy.

The following day, my co-worker apprised me that I made exactly the same mistake. Apparently, the men I know do not read historical romances.

Now, in getting back to the other meaning of ton, I do have a ton of books. Seriously, a lot! So today, I’ve added 5 (five) more books to the mix, which means I’ll pick 6 winners instead of 5 today. My thought for today is how much the majority of romance novels do not make good movies. In the same breath, I will say that some do–huge example would be Jane Austen’s  Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion (some of my favourites!). Can you think of a current romance novel that would make a good movie? Or which book do you think is just too perfect the way it is to be tampered with? The Season website is already two years old. Gosh, where has the time gone? I remember when it was a site strictly for historical romances and it didn’t have a blog because truly, what interesting things did I have to say? I remember when the site had no reviews and was constructed to mimic a print magazine. Oh, how utterly naive I was.  Now I’m working on I think my fourth  makeover of the site–which isn’t quite ready yet–and I’ve discovered this about myself, I do love my colours.

So what’s going on this week? I’m giving away a total of 125 print books to 25 commenters. That boils down to 25 books a day and 5 books per winner.  I have the books listed by day–Monday, Tuesday etc–and winners will send me their top 10 titles in preference order.
