I have some very exciting news! As of June 2, I will go from writing part-time to writing full-time!!! For me this was one of those decisions I knew I’d have to make but once I did, one I felt completely comfortable with. Yes, it’s a bit scary. I’ve worked all my life and have be dependent on a regular pay cheque and benefits. Throwing my financial future into publishing, which comes with many many uncertainties, took lots of thought and consideration. What it came down to was my ability to get out books in a timely fashion. My full-time job was very demanding, allowing me little time to do everything else I needed to do in my life–take care of my son, write, clean my house and then there was the matter of sleeping. Well as of June 2nd I will be freed up by 40 plus hours a week. I’m ecstatic to say the least and expect to put more books with greater frequency.

To me that’s reason enough to celebrate. Madison has created a new Facebook page for The Season Blog visitors. I personally think it’s lovely page. To help her populate it, everyone who likes the page will receive one entry for the iPad 3 drawing. And if you want to know how close I am to giving that away, here’s an update:

The goal is to reach 15,000 books sold of AN HEIR OF DECEPTION.
Current # books sold = 10,456
# books needed to reach goal = 4,544

I have no idea how much longer it will take to reach the 15k goal but I hope it doesn’t take much longer (another 4-6 weeks would be great). And if you’re not on Facebook, don’t worry, there will be other ways to enter the drawing for the iPad 3.

There is one though that recently came out that I haven’t given away and I have to say, if you’re looking just for an ereader, it looks pretty darn good. What I like most about it is the fact you can read with it in the sun and in the dark. How cool is that?!

In other news, I’m curious–I’d like to know what you’re reading or if you’re not reading a book at this moment, the last book you read. The first person to list the same book I’m reading will receive a print book from my stash OR a digital book (mmpb ) of choice.

The last time I did this, it was to help promote my free novella, ALL’S FAIR IN LOVE & SEDUCTION. It worked out really well. So well in fact I’d thought I do it again for my AN HEIR OF DECEPTION. What did I do, well I offered 10 additional entries for the iPad 2 drawing to anyone who posted my animated ad (look to your right) on their blog or website when the novella reached 250, 000 downloads. That happened mid-January.

Well the rules are the exact same except this prize is for an iPad 3 (own one and LOVE IT!) and the goal for AN HEIR OF DECEPTION is 15,000 copies sold. Where am I know you ask? Currently I’ve sold 4140 copies, which means 10,860 copies to go. The blog or site I receive the most redirects from will receive a $100 Visa gift card. Spring is here.  And for GRW all the buzz is about the Maggie!

This year, not only is the Unpublished Maggie Award for Excellence electronic, we’ve added a new category – Young Adult.  We’re very excited to include this fast growing subgenre in our contest, and hope you are too.

Each entry is a maximum of 35 pages (synopsis and chapter(s) combined).  Entries will be sent to judges by June 17 and are due back by July 31.  Maggie Award categories are:  Single Title, Historical, Contemporary Series Romance, Paranormal, Inspirational and Young Adult.
