Here’s a chance for some lucky commenter to nab an advance copy of Eloisa James’s THE UGLY DUCHESS. Click the cover for pre-order links.
How can she dare to imagine he loves her . . . when all London calls her The Ugly Duchess?
Theodora Saxby is the last woman anyone expects the gorgeous James Ryburn, heir to the Duchy of Ashbrook, to marry. But after a romantic proposal before the prince himself, even practical Theo finds herself convinced of her soon-to-be duke’s passion.
Still, the tabloids give the marriage six months.
Theo would have given it a lifetime . . . until she discovers that James desired not her heart, and certainly not her countenance, but her dowry.
Society was shocked by their wedding . . . and is scandalized by their separation.
Now James faces the battle of his life, convincing Theo that he loves the duckling who blossomed into the swan.
And Theo will quickly find that, for a man with the soul of a pirate, All’s Fair in Love—and War.

I almost want to read it just to be convinced! I generally hate reading books about heroines being ugly because in my opinion the whole point of reading one of these novels in the first place is to escape from reality and read about a fantasy world that has certain core elements of beauty, obvious attraction and chemistry. I find that very hard to believe when the heroine is ugly, it puts a dose of uncomfortable reality into the novel which in turn prevents me from delving into the novel like I would want to.

Eloisa never fails to write a story that pulls you into the story and makes you understand the characters personally.
She makes me laugh, she makes me cry and always takes me on a fairy tale ride! Once again it sounds like she’s come up with a story that will pull on your heart strings and you’ll be routing for Theodoro and James to realize that there spouse is just their right match!
Thanks for the opportunity to win a copy of The Ugly Duchess!
