Giveaway: Gotta love Autumn

Thursday, September 29th, 2011
animalattraction

I’m swamped at work — under tight deadline — so I have little time to put together a decent post. But I do have time to celebrate the onset of Autumn — okay, I’m like a week late. Here are three great October releases: ANIMAL ATTRACTION by Jill Shalvis, TOUCH OF CRIMSON by Sylvia Day and IN PURSUIT OF ELIZA CYNSTER by Stephanie Laurens. My favourite season is Autumn–I’m all about the foliage and the cooler temps. What’s yours? Comment to enter to win one of these titles–and don’t forget to let me know which one you’re interested in winning.

Age difference in romance

badboys

by Kat Latham

Back in the early 90s, when I first started reading romance, I remember reading a few books where there was a big age difference between the hero and heroine. Of course, the hero was always the older one.

In one book, the hero was in his late 30s and ended up with a 19-year-old woman. At the time, that didn’t gross me out because I was barely a teenager…37 and 19 seemed equally elderly to me.  But now that I’m older, that age difference isn’t romantic—it’s grooming.

SQUEEEEE!!! Celebrating with a Giveaway!

Sunday, September 25th, 2011

I’m going to call this Good News Sunday! And let me tell you, I love waking up to good news. What happened? Well today Nicola Cornick (God Bless her) tagged me on Facebook to let me know SINFUL SURRENDER – my debut released almost two years ago — was listed in The Observer (British Newspaper) as one of the Top 10 romance ebooks sold for the past week. SINFUL SURRENDER!!! Can you even believe it? I can’t. I mean I’ve released 2 books since its release. Anyway, I’m not complaining cause I’m all joy and smiling today.

Did you miss…?

darkness

by Janine

Given the voracious reading appetite of many romance readers, it’s nearly mandatory to find books by prowling the new book section of your bookstore or library.  I cull for new reads at my local library and Barnes & Noble Nook Book new releases daily in hopes of finding a great new book.  It’s difficult to imagine I have missed books but is always a welcome surprise when I read a newly discovered treasure.  I am pleased to share some of these gems with other readers in this inaugural edition of Did You Miss…

Giveaway: Win an ereader & enjoy the ebook sale!

Tuesday, September 20th, 2011
Kindle

You know what I love about digital books? Not just the convenience of being able to store about 6 billion books in my pocket. And no, not that my book clutter has been vastly reduced or that with my iPad and iPhone, I don’t even need light to read. Oh, and did I fail to mention that I definitely read more books than ever since I got an ereader.  And did I fail to mention I can sort my books by the click of a button and that they are displayed so nicely on the lovely virtual book shelf. Gosh, if all that wasn’t enough reason to love those digital books then I have to say the plethora of sales surely would push me right over the edge. When I can snag a much loved, much wanted ebook for under $5, I’m pretty much in heaven. And it would appear, so is the rest of the read buying public. :)

Jumping right off the topic of books for the moment, I have to tell you I haven’t watched much tv since I started writing in late 2006. I certainly haven’t been moved to watch previews of upcoming shows…that is until this year. So now that I have my tv watching mojo back, here’s a couple shows that are ‘must watches’ for me.

Now Hiring – Editor

hiring

I’m always looking for good reviewers to add to my stable, but right now I’m in need of an editor–ideally 2 editors–to edit The Season reviews. The Season typically reviews anywhere from 50 – 75 reviews a month. This is a paying position.

The ideal candidate would have to have superior editing skills and be able to effectively communicate issues with reviewers. If you are interested or know anyone who fits the criteria, please email me at contact at theseasonforromance dot com.

Today I won a copy of Jeannie Lin’snovella from Harlequin Historical Undone THE LADY’S SCANDALOUS NIGHT on Twitter. I didn’t mean to win it as I receive Harlequin books to review but I forget to let her know I was retweeting for my followers. But as I won it, I decided one of my blog visitors really deserved to win it…so here I am giving it away.
