Liz Carlyle’s ONE TOUCH OF SCANDAL releases September 28th but instead of doing an interview or your typical post, today The Season is the beginning of a blogathon blogging for Liz’s favourite charity, CAT ANGELS. Avon Books has generously offered to contribute $1.00 for every comment up to $3000, which equates to 3000 comments. My goal for The Season Blog is 400 comments or more. If we hit that goal, I will contribute $50 of my own.
And in addition to helping out this wonderful charity, your comment will also enter you to win 1 of 2 copies of ONE TOUCH OF SCANDAL.

Below, Liz is going to introduce us to her cats.
This is my special boy, Elliot, the first of our four rescues. I named him after the hero in my first book, MY FALSE HEART, because like all alpha bad-boys, he wasn’t REALLY bad, just misunderstood. Of course, he’s sitting on the kitchen table, where he definitely ISN’T supposed to be, but when you’re than handsome, you can get away with stuff.
~~~
This is Elliot’s brother, Pelham and his sister Mary, the inspirations for Lord Ruthveyn’s cats, Silk and Satin. We got them at the pound about three weeks after Elliot. It took the dog catcher three trips, answering a feral cat complaint. We agreed to take the whole family. Sadly, we never got the Mamma Cat and the last kitten. Mary is still very feral, but Pelham is a snuggler. He has come a long way from being a wild alley cat. It has been so rewarding to work with ferals, and see them learn to live a normal life.
~~~
And here is Stuart, the most un-feral cat in the universe. We got him at the pound a year later, and life hasn’t been the same since. He has an outsized, dog-like personality and loves everyone. Loves them until they run screaming from our house. Just doesn’t get the concept of “personal space.” Here he is in the back garden, wearing his harness. My husband let him off his leash. He is the only cat who goes outside — but only with supervision.

Desperation drove her into the arms of a devil…
Grace Gauthier had taken a position as governess hoping to find security and peace in a life that had very little of either. She’s always yearned for a good marriage, a family, and a home, but it was not to be. And when the brutal murder of her employer leaves her unprotected and alone—as Scotland Yard’s prime suspect—she has no one to turn to except the mysterious and reclusive Lord Ruthveyn.
A dark-eyed Lucifer, Ruthveyn guards his secrets carefully. His shadowed past as the Queen’s most trusted agent in India is the stuff of whispered rumor, as is his mixed ancestry. Deeply moved by her plight—and haunted by her beauty—Ruthveyn is determined to save Grace by unmasking a killer. But his growing passion for her soon places his own heart at risk and threatens to expose his dark gifts—and his dark society—to the world . . .

I love Liz Carlyle’s books; it’s good to hear that she’s a good person too. Here’s my comment for the cause!
great stuff, count me in!
This is such a fun, and worthy, cause! Thanks for making the cat rounds, Liz.
Aww, those cats are darling. Thank you for having this great promotion to help kitties!
What a fantastic cause!
Yay for helping the kitties!!
I’d love to post for this, because feline rescue is an issue near and dear to my heart. 15 years ago we adopted a cat born from a feral litter. He was the only one who survived due to the callous rifle-wielding family whose backyard he had the bad luck to be born in. A year later Muffin came to us, found by hubby’s father begging for bread balls at the duck pond. A year after that we found a litter living in a refuse pile behind an empty corporate building and kept sisters Samurai and Sherkahn after adopting out the rest. Sadly we’re now down to one, Sherkahn, who is going on 16 and is almost completely blind. I’m always happy to meet another cat lover and friend of the pound.
Oh, I love kitties and any charities that help animals! I have two kitties of my own, Miss Priss and Babe, that love to sit in my lap when I read! Not to mention keep me warm on these cool fall days, hehe!
Congrats on your new release, Liz!
Have to help our furry friends… Kudos to Avon for helping out, too

Fantastic cause. I love that you are doing this donation it says a lot about you as a person.
Congrats on the release it sounds like a great book.
A very worthy cause!!! Loved the pics. Soooo adorable!
Liz, thank you for sharing the pictures and stories about your 4 cats: Elliot, Pelham, Mary, and Stuart. I really enjoyed them and think this is a very worthwhile cause.
In regards to your book, One Touch of Scandal, I absolutely loved the cover. The story about Grace and Ruthveyn sounds wonderful! I love your books and can’t wait to read this one.
Please enter me into your drawing. Thanks and good luck for your cause.
This is such a worthy cause! I am a big cat lover and have two wonderful cats that my husband and I absolutely adore. The newest member is a tabby we found on a side road on our way home a year ago. She was sitting in the middle of the road, sleeping next to a mud puddle that we assume she was staying near for the water. My husband pulled over and picked her up and when he gave her to me she cuddled close in my shoulder and won my heart. She was wet, hungry and sick and we took her into our home and it was the best thing we ever did. She has given us such joy and love and our 15 year old male cat took to her right away and the two have become inseperable. Every one that visits us takes to her as she has such a beautiful and loving personality. I can not think of a better cause as cats can bring such joy to a household. I also want to add that I love your books and am looking forward to reading One Touch of Scandal.
Love Liz’s books! And this is such a great cause!
Liz:
Congratulations on the new book! I love your novels they are great. Your kitties are beautiful, but my love is Stuart. He is my boyfriend. Love.
As a fellow saver of lost, abused or abandoned cats (up to 6 now). I find homes for any others I come across. I am looking forward to yer cause making its goal. I have been reading romance books since high school and thats a long time(not saying). I love yer books hope I see alot more .
Oh, my, Joan Osborne has me a verklempt. We have a lovely male cat that came meowing up to us outside a restaurant one dark autumn evening. He was about 4 or 5 months old at the time, pure black, and a few yards from a busy highway. I scooped him up without even thinking about it, and he’s been ours ever since. Refuses to go outside because he *knows* how bad it is out there. Thanks to Liz, Avon, and The Season for arranging for other sweet kitties to sleep indoors in safety.
Great cause. Thanks for helping the defenseless.
What lovely kitties!
Anything to help the kitties!!! Go Avon!
There’s no love like the love you get from an adopted pet. What a great charity!
Liz, best wishes with your new book! Thanks, Avon, for this great sponsorship idea.
I thought I was the only one who took my cat for walks on a leash!
Your new book sounds great, Liz!

And this sponsorship idea is wonderful – thank you to you and Avon!

Even though I don’t have a cat, I love them. I think it is wonderful when anyone tries to help the less fortunate, 2 legs or 4. A big Huzzah for you, as my oldest son would say.

Love your kitties! My Miri was a pound kitty who has some very “dog” habits. She, too, goes outside on her harness with supervision (and sometimes tries to sneak out with out it, but she’s very good about letting me catch her!). Of course, she’s a tortie, so that might have something to do with it, too! It was nice getting to meet your kitty krew!
This is a wonderful cause. I’m definitely doing my part in contributing since I’m an animal lover.
An animal lover myself, glad to help!
Liz,
What a wonderful thing you are doing. Love your books……..am now reading WICKED ALL DAY. Enjoyed the pictures of your cats. We have four including “Sassy”…….now I wonder how she got that name!!!
Hey Liz!
Love the cat pictures! Notice Pelham and Mary aka Satin and Silk got a place in Lord Ruthveyn’s bed. I have feral cats all around my house since I live near the City College campus in my city and it is (sadly) a drop off point for unwanted kittens. Though the cats won’t let us get near them, they come to us to complain when things are not going their way (that @@##$%$%!!! Tom did it to me again!) at which point I tell them if I could only catch them instead, they might at least not have to worry about having more kittens since we spay and neuter all we can catch. Oh, well.
I read One Touch of Scandal and loved it! It combines the swirling emotionalism and murderous plotting of two of my favorite of your books: A Woman Scorned and No True Gentleman. Of course, what am I saying, all of your books are favorites. And I have read them all, several times. Can hardly wait for the next one. I have to wait until 2011? Oh, please!
You are doing such a great thing. Good luck raising truck loads of money!
Than you Avon!
I love it when posts like this come up! What a great cause.
Great idea to raise money!
Love your books Liz, love this cause too!
I’m not a romance book lover. I run away from them. However what Avon and other romance book bloggers are doing is wonderful. Someone’s gotta help those cute furbabies! kudos to you guys for helping such a wonderful charity.
I’m gonna go hug kitties now.
What a wonderful idea! Almost every writer I know has a kitteh. I have a dog, but he thinks he’s a kitteh, so it counts.
Come on everyone! Keep commenting for the kitties!
Another comment for the cats!
I saw a ferrell kittie in the parking garage at Chippenham and fed it my chicken salad. Hope more people donate to the cause.
I rescued my two kitties from a local shelter and have never regretted it. Like yours, one of mine also has an amazingly dog-like personality and is such a people cat he drive our friends nuts – especially those with allergies
Thanks for putting kitty rescue out there!
I have feral’s in our neighborhood and they break my heart so much! Thanks for sharing your beauties Liz, Pelham, Elliot, Mary and Stuart have no idea how really lucky they are out of millions of animals like them they lucked out and found a wonderful loving home!
Here is hoping for 400 and more comments for this cause close to cat lovers hearts everywhere!
I have one “rescued” from shelter and one from our neighborhood and they both are without measure wonderful additions to our lives….
