Lately, I’ve been blogging about some of my favourite plotlines. Well, Robin Kaye’s BREAKFAST IN BED definitely falls in my top five. Actually, it combines two of my favourites; friends to lovers, and a heroine who has secretly always had a ‘thing‘ for the hero. Of course now I can’t read BREAKFAST IN BED until I read ROMEO, ROMEO, and TOO HOT TO HANDLE, as BREAKFAST IN BED is the third in Robin Kaye’s Domestic Gods series.
It’s the kind of book I’d like to share with the visitors of my Blog and that’s why Sourcebooks is giving away 10 (ten) copies of BREAKFAST IN BED. To enter to win, email your name and address to theseason@historicalromancereleases.com or click the image below to go to the entry page on The Season website. Winners will be announced Friday, January 15th.
**Open to US residents
So tell me, do you like, want, or have a man who knows his way around the kitchen and does housework? If you comment AND enter to win BREAKFAST IN BED, you will also eligible to win 1 of 2 copies of my debut historical, SINFUL SURRENDER.

Hi Beverley! To answer the question, I grew up in what is probably your typical home where the men don’t really do any ‘housework.’ So yes, I’d like to have a man who knows his way around the kitchen and will do some housework. Can’t stand when a man won’t pickup after himself or put a dish in the dishwasher!
I would love to have a man who knows his way around a kitchen or Luke (from Gilmore Girls.)^^ That way i wouldn’t have to cook all of the time.
Ha, I have to laugh because my hubby has never been one to do much housework, But the last couple years he has taken up doing the dishes every morning. When he loads the dishwasher he sorts the silverware so each size goes into its own basket square….and now he expects me to do that too!!! He also does all of his own laundry and is a heck of a chef on the BBQ. That’s not much help….but I’ll keep him after 36 years.
After being married to a guy who thought he could cook and really couldn’t I would love a guy who knew his way around a kitchen.
As for housework, it should be shared. I want a partner, not someone to clean up after. LOL
My husband’s kitchen knowledge stops at preheating the oven and throwing a pizza in. Okay, so he’s learned to make himself cookies too, since I won’t make them anymore. It’s too tempting to eat the dough and I just simply can’t have that!
I would like to have the man which is able to move freely on the kitchen.
I would like to get back home after a hard day and to find a hot meal on the table.
The man in the kitchen is sexy.
Wow! that book looks great!
My husband actually cleans more than I do. But I’m the one who cooks.
Who doesn’t want man who knows his way around the kitchen and does housework?..LOL..My hubby is doesn’t want help at all around the Kitchen but he pretty good with housework so 1 out 2 iusn’t all that bad.
WOW! I’d love to have a man who helps around the house. Mine does the outside work. He’s “old school” women do the inside, but it works for us.LOL I would love to win this book, it looks great!
I have my copy of “Breakfast in Bed” and can’t wait to read it. I think it’s great if a man knows his way around the kitchen and it’s even better if he cleans up after himself and scrubs the bathroom.
Yes I do have a husband that knows his way in the kitchen. Some of the best night are when we are cooking together! They can be fun & off the cuff or they can become very ROMANTIC!
Yes my husband does know & help around the house too. It isn’t just his job or mine it’s ours & I think after 27 years it’s great!
Sounds like a great read!
My husband does 1/2 the housework and cooking. It’s wonderful!
My husband knows his way around the kitchen until it is time to clean up.
You mean there are men who do this voluntarily? Can we take these guys and lock them in a closet with the rest of the male population and hope some kind of osmosis reaction occurs? Mine will cook as long as cooking is defined as Bar-B-Q, but forget housework. I’m trying to teach my son that girls like the domestic type. So I have to say that I am a sucker for a guy whether fictional or not who can cook up a mean meal then clean the mess, and if he throws in a massage with (or even in) a hot bubble bath…..I am there!!!!
I love a man who cooks. I don’t care if he doesn’t clean, as long as he isn’t messy to begin with. But I don’t like to cook much, so a man who makes me good things to eat is fabulous. I don’t even mind cleaning the kitchen as long as he does the cooking.
I married my exhusband because along with his other talents, he came with a full knowledge of cooking and cleaning! Too bad I didn’t see the signs of alcohol abuse sooner.
I would love to have a man who knows how to cook!
My husband likes to cook and he does a great job of making meals. When he was home this fall, in-between jobs, he cooked every night. It was great coming home from work with a meal already in the oven.
He’ll help around the house if I ask, but I don’t mind since he helps out in the kitchen with meals and clean-up detail.
I have a wonderful husband who is about as domesticated as he can be- I am handicapped and he looks after the housework, including bringing me breakfast or whatever else I need, in bed, if I can’t get up…. I am TRULY blest!
Kimberly, I have to say I laughed out loud when I read yours. LOL.
Deanne, I shook my head when I read yours. I swear, some men should come with warning signs on them.
Jennifer, you are one lucky woman!!! Don’t let him go.
Wow Sue, 27 yrs with a man who knows the the term ‘sharing the work’. You’re another lucky one!
Jo Ann, the problem with that whole outside work thing is it’s not a daily grind. Cooking and cleaning the house IS. LOL
Renee, I take it he’s not making the cookies from scratch??
My husband’s idea of cooking is scramling eggs for dinner for my daughters when I am out of town. I would love it if would thin k of dinner without being prompted! He’s much better at chores, even though I always get stuck with the table that all junk and mail accumulates on!
LOL, Bev, how did you know?
Robin writes a great book about “real” people. Friends who didn’t even look at romance before Romeo, Romeo are now chomping at the bit until Robin’s next book debuts. The gal is fun, witty, talented, and I’m proud to say, I knew her when so she already knows cleaning the john would be high on my DG wishlist.
My husband can cook , particularly stir-frying and grilling. He vacuums, but boasts of never having washed a floor. Go figure. Jennifer’s husband sounds like my ideal – half of the cooking and cleaning.
Does he give massages? That would put him in the A+ category.
I guess a man doing things around the house is both positive and sexy. I find that when the opposite happens and I do everything, I’m very resentful and that’s not sexy at all!!!
If I cooook, my man does the dishes but that is about it. I would love a man who could but it is not to be
I have to admit my man helps out with the housework and we even cook together or take turns. I love it.
My husband does MOST of the cooking around the house and helps out with the cleaning.
All the men I have known do mostof the cooking and help with housework.
I am very lucky in this department!! My husband loves to cook and can clean a house better than most women and enjoys doing this. He retired the end of this past year, and I have been in heaven since.
Too bad the contest is only for US residents
I live in the Netherlands.
My husband does cook occasionally but in the summer he does a lot of grilling.
My husband is a better cook than I am. Much better. But he’s also the kind of cook who thinks the food will taste better the bigger the mess. lol. He definitely knows his way around the kitchen, but he cooks and I clean. As for other housework and the dh . . . not so much.
I have a man who /knows/ how to cook and basically clean lmao, however this does not always equal to him cooking and cleaning up *rolls eyes*
Heres hoping i win a book hehe
I would love to have a man who would cook. Mine knows how just won’t. Doesn’t help with much of anything around the house. I was determined that my boys would be a help and not a burden to their significant others or at least be able to take care of themselves. And I think that they all do a pretty good job. It sure makes a difference.
I would love to win a book especially Sinful Surrender. It is on my TBB list.
My husband is an amazing cook. He puts me to shame! But he does so enjoy it! He is really good about helping around the house, he told me once if he wanted a maid he would have hired one not married one! I love that line! He is my prince charming!
I would love to have a man who knows how to cook. I’m not a very good cook so it would be very helpful.
Ha, I don’t have a man currently…but gotta say, one who does a bit of cooking and cleaning would be a great thing to find.
Entered to win “Breakfast in Bed” and crossing my fingers!!
My hubby can do housework, he just usually doesn’t unless I ask. LOL Same goes for cooking.
I’m blessed with a hubby who also sees marriage as a partnership. He cooks and cleans and does outside chores as well, but I help out there too. When I come home and find that he has cleaned the bathroom w/o being asked, I tell him how sexy that is!
I am blessed with a husband that doesn’t mind cooking, cleaning, or doing laundry. He’s very special and we’ll have our 36th wedding anniversary in April.
Please enter me to win Breakfast in Bed and Sinful Surrender. Thanks!
I have entered to win “Breakfast in Bed”….My ex-husband was terrible with housework but it would be great to find one who would cook.
A man that cooks would be FANTASTIC! haha!
Wow, what a fabulous response! Thanks Bev for having me here. I’m sorry I wasn’t here earlier. I thought it was supposed to go up tomorrow. *hangs head in shame* I promise I’ll catch up, right after I put a blog up. Be back soon!
Hi Robin,
Thanks for dropping by. And you’re right, it is tomorrow, I just put the post up early
. I do that sometimes. hehehe
And this is only a portion of the readers looking to win your fabulous book. 70 have already emailed me their entries.
Oh, and I have Too Hot to Handle, courtesy of RWA conf in DC that I just received in the mail this past week, and today I ordered Romeo, Romeo and Breakfast in Bed because I HAVE to read them in order.
Bev
I’m very fortunate to have a man who knows his way around a kitchen & also helps me with housework. I also entered to win “Breakfast In Bed”. Thanks!
i would love a man to clean
congrats on the book
Sapphire~Thanks for stopping by! I agree with you. When I began looking for a serious relationship, I wanted someone to who wouldn’t mind doing the cooking and cleaning. Personally, I don’t mind cooking just as long as my DH cleans up, but cleaning–I’m really allergic to it.
Melissa~Oh yeah, I totally agree with that. My DH can cook in a pinch, and no one has died from his food yet, but he’s no gourmet.
Mitzi~ LOL, I guess there are worse things. At least he’s doing dishes.
Thanks for both contests, Bev and Robin.
I am very lucky to be married to a man who shares the home management workload without complaint. He often will take it upon himself to vacuum, clean a bathroom or do some dishes. And I think that sets a great example for our two daughters. HOWEVER — experience has proven that he needs to let me do the washing/drying part of our laundry chores. So many shrunken clothes . . . .
My husband — he’s not afraid to take a cookbook and make something new! He also does windows and he helps around the house too!?!?!?.
No unfortunately I would love one! Even if all he know how to make is an omlette we can share ! A girl can dream though!
My husband does know his way around the kitchen. He makes a great breakfast.
