The Season now has a forum!

And here I thought I wouldn’t be blogging that much. But as you see, my posts tend to be for informational purposes. :)

Yes, I have  another addition to THE SEASON website, which is an online forum (bulletin board). As with all things THE SEASON, I keep to the same theme. Have you noticed I’m completely in the holiday mood? I actually ONLY intended to have a forum and not a blog. Why? Because I wanted to start a monthly book club and a forum seemed the best way to accomplish that. I expected to have it completed in January but a child at home for 11 days makes writing kind of difficult, so my efforts went into customizing the blog and forum during his waking hours. My poor revisions, which have suffered, were relegated to the dark and quiet of the night.

I will have an official launch for the forum in November with some giveaways and polling to find out which November release readers want to be the first THE SEASON Book Club Pick. In the meanwhile, 2 early bird members will have an opportunity to win a random historical romance (haven’t chosen them yet but they will be  new releases). It’s almost October 12th which means the poll for September releases is about to close. I’ll be featuring the TOP 5 PICKS.  Here’s how the poll stands right now:

What’s Next

Hi everyone! I must start this post by saying I AM NOT A BLOGGER. Hehehehe. That said, I decided I must put up a blog for THE SEASON’s website. Other authors might have much more to say than I.

Well, it’s October, my favourite month, autumn my favourite season of the year, therefore, THE SEASON needs to do something extra special for readers. So for the week of Halloween, October 26 – 30, we’ll be spotlighting historical debut authors of 2009 and doing a 2009 Debut Giveaway. I know for sure Zebra’s entire debut line will be up for grabs as well as Avon’s.  I see you clapping and cheering. Yep, what a better way to be able to try out a new author than by getting their book for free. If Harlequin taught me nothing (and their books have taught me plenty, mind you) is that sampling for free is the way to go. Authors, if your book debuted this year and you’d like to join in, please email me.

Also, this month I’m accepting entries for THE SEASON’s annual Best Historical Cover Contest. So authors, if you think your cover is a winner, send me the image at historicals@historicalromancereleases.com. The deadline for entries is Oct 22nd. Preliminary voting will go on from November 2nd – 13th.  Final voting will occur November 30th – December 13th. I’m already seeing some gorgeous covers, so I know it will be hard to narrow it down to just one.

In December there will be a Christmas Giveaway (how could there not be, seriously). And in November I’ll be adding a Pinch of Paranormal to the mix. Four books for every month will hopefully whet your appetite for anything and everything not of this world.

I think that about wraps up the first post. All and any suggestions for the site are welcome by moi. Feel free to let me know what’s working for you and what’s not.
