Lord Newbury will not be deterred so easily since he refuses to hand over the earldom to his nephew, Sebastian. Having no desire to be involved in any of it, Annabel decides to try stay away from Lord Newbury and the handsome nephew she has never met.

Sebastian Grey is a rogue and the heir presumptive to his uncle’s earldom. While he knows Lord Newbury has his eye on a new bride, he has no idea who she is, and frankly he doesn’t care. However, while relaxing after an assignation with another lady, Annabel quite literally stumbles upon him. Sebastian and Annabel fall into an easy conversation which leads to some not so innocent flirting, but when Annabel finally learns who her companion is, she flees, leaving Sebastian to wonder who she is. Once Sebastian finds out who Annabel is, he finds it hard to stay away.

Gossip starts spreading about Annabel and Sebastian. It is up to some meddling family members to put things back together so Annabel can go on to become the Countess of Newbury. But is that really what Annabel wants? With a scandal pitting uncle and nephew against each other, Annabel must choose whether to risk it all on love or on security for her family.

Ten Things I Love About You reminds me of classic Julia Quinn and her ever-popular Bridgerton novels. There is a family dynamic that seems so real and has you laughing because you can see that happening with your own family. Lady Olivia Valentine, Sebastian’s cousin, is a meddler, and Lady Vickers, Annabel’s grandmother, is a mischievous old lady. While this book will definitely make you chuckle (I did, out loud a couple of times), it also made me anxious. I keep panicking because I really wasn’t sure how it was going to end sometimes.

Sebastian is not a one-note hero. A former sniper in the army and a man with a secret, he is a complicated man who puts on a façade for the ton. Annabel is not a prim and proper miss. She grew up in the country, speaking her mind and out running turkeys (okay, she came in third in that pursuit) and her siblings. She is opinionated and outspoken, which is just not done amongst the ton. But together, they bring out the best in each other.

Fans of Julia Quinn will recognize Sebastian Grey and Lady Olivia from her previous novel What Happens In London, in which Sebastian steals the scene by doing a reading from a fictional book called Miss Butterworth and the Mad Baron by fictional author Sarah Gorely. While you will not to have read What Happens In London to understand what goes on in Ten Things I Love About You, it is well worth the read, plus it may give you some insight about a certain secret our hero possesses. ~ Jamie
