Spy versus spy
Late spring in 1803 in southeast England, Bonaparte plans an invasion. Our hero, an English agent, must find and stop the French intruders plotting on English soil, if our heroine could only stay out of his way. She is spying on him to prove he is guilty of treason, and not her brother. Of course, not having a clue how to conduct espionage, it isn’t long until things begin to go terribly wrong.
In the course of her spying, our heroine is shot, knocked unconscious, befriended by a circus tot, helps an orphaned footman, stops three would-be smugglers, and is nearly seduced by the man she considers her enemy. Together, if our hero and heroine can learn to trust each other, they will fight French agents, a black cat, and murderous villains in order to save England and ignite their own passionate love.
