There's nothing better than a divorce-in-jeopardy story, especially when we're talking about our favourite couple, Suzanne and Ryder Jefferson. Have a fan in hand when reading Hot Finish because Erin McCarthy shifts readers into full throttle in giving these two a second chance to make it right.

From the moment I met Suzanne and Ryder in Flat-Out Sexy, the itch to read their story began. The banter and fights between the divorced couple in the first two books in Ms. Carthy's Fast Track series is simply delicious. It's so obvious they still have strong feelings for one another. To me, that makes for the best kind of conflict.

Unfortunately--or fortunately--for Suzanne and Ryder, they aren't officially divorced. Someone--namely Ryder--didn't complete the paperwork needed for the divorce to be official. Which means they're still married. This fact sits much better with Ryder than it does Suzanne, as he sees it as a chance to give their marriage another try.

Suzanne doesn't see it quite that way. She's been through one divorce with Ryder, she certainly doesn't want to go through another. She's moved on with her life--or so she's trying to convince herself. With her alimony payments at an end, she's now in the wedding planning business. Nikki, the bimbo we first met in Flat-Out-Sexy, is getting married to one of Ryder's fellow race car drivers. However, not only is Nikki as dumb as stone--which is an insult to stones everywhere--she is bridezilla personified. And working on Nikki's wedding throws Ryder into Suzanne's path even more than usual because he's in the wedding.

Although Ryder has been described as a gorgeous as heck ladies' man, to me, he is a total soft touch. He's so open to giving their marriage another chance, I couldn't help but feel for him. He's not like one of those emotionally closed off heroes. Actually, that's more Suzanne. She's the one who wanted the divorce and carries the heartbreak of their failed marriage more openly than does Ryder. But the one thing she can't deny herself is the passion that was the constant in their relationship. Even as their relationship was dissolving, their compatibility in the bedroom was unflagging. And it's that passion she can't deny herself when Ryder takes the initiative and kisses her. Their passion then strips back layers of emotions they've tried to squelch the last three years.

With super sexy love scenes and two fabulous characters working to patch up their broken marriage, I thoroughly enjoyed their journey to happily ever after. And I recently discovered that this is not the final book in the Fast Track series and that in fact, there will be six deliciously sexy books. Evan, who is Elec's (hero of Flat-Out Sexy) brother, will have his book out in Spring of 2011. I can't wait! ~ Beverley
